This year’s 2008 Springs Fest was a great way to kick off the San Marcos paddling season!  With boat demos, classes, educational demonstrations, and a great Club Cook-Off! 

MASSIVE Thanks is due to all the Power Olympic Outdoor Center Instructors new and old who really brought out their love of the sport to share with others.  Thank you: Patrick Brown, Holly Crancer, Jeff Leach, Bruce Litton, Larry Lewis, Larry Bracken, Phil Meyer,, Mary Maliff, Kyle Lisbet, Russell Nebgen, Lorraine McPhee, Duane Whitis, and Arianne Morrison. We would not exist with out you all, and truly look forward to working with you this season!

We would like to say a HUGE thanks to Duane, Evelyn, and Amy from TG Canoe and Kayak’s who worked so hard to show what a great outfitter that we have here in San Marcos, and to bring so many great boats for people to try.  TG’s was also instrumental in coordinating the SpringsFest effort.  We thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm. 

Thank you to Brian Houston  from Epic Kayaks, and Marty Cronin from Jackson Kayak’s for giving expert advice to beginners and elite racers alike.

We appreciate everyone who helped with the Cook-Off, and congratulations to all of our winners! This was our very first one and it was a blast!  We also wanted to say thank you for everyone who made donations, participated in the raffle, or bid on silent auction items at the Cook Off.  Your generous donations allowed for Mark and Ben to be able to buy gas to get to the Olympic Trials in Charlotte, North Carolina.  They are currently training and doing well getting ready for the Olympic Trials April 25-27th.  We will keep everyone posted on their progress and the race!
