Event Description

Do you want to paddle whitewater with stability and style?  Then come for our Weekend Classics:
Total Immersion, Total Fun!

The Kayak and Canoe Classic Weekends are a great immersion into the world of paddlesports!  This course can also be used as a great way to advance your skills!  We love to tailor this course to our customers needs!

Whitewater Weekends:

Friday 6:30pm-9:00pm.  This gives you a chance to get to know everyone, and talk about how we can best meet your needs.  We will then work on the fundamentals of kayak rolling.

Step by step rolling progression

Saturday 8:00am-5:00pm. We will have a full day of kayak skills developement and fun!  We will start with the core solutions for making you as capable in a kayak as possible.  You will be in your boat working on balance and correct stroke technique, and then down the river we go! We will be paddling down the lower San Marcos river which will give you lots of opportunities to practice your new skills.  We will end our day with a super fun slide down Martindale dam!

Lunch will be available at surrounding local restaurants or you can bring your own and enjoy it on the bank of the river!

Sunday 8:00am-3:00pm. You will have an opportunity to further develop your paddling skills on another beautiful stretch of river through Rio Vista Park.  We will run these drops, as well as work on maneuvering in the ccurrent and reading water. Before lunch you will be surfing! We will work extensively on rolling.

This course may be modified for Flatwater, Recreational Kayaks, and Canoes!! You may also do only part of the course if it would fit your schedule best.
